5년간 한국에서 영어강사로, 리쿠루터로 근무하며 학원 운영에 대해 많이 배울수 있었습니다. 또 학원장님과 원어민 강사간의 관계에서 발생할 수 있는 크고 작은 문제들을 많이 보았습니다. 이러한 문제는 대게 문화의 차이, 고용인과 고용주의 서로 다른 시각의 차이로 인한 이해와 대화가 부족하여 발생합니다.Travel and Teach Recruiting Inc.에서는 이러한 쟁점을 강사의 입장에서, 학원장의 입장에서, 이해하고 해소하고자 지속적으로 노력하고 있습니다. 학원은 영어강사를 채용하는 고용주의 입장에서 근무환경이나 채용조건을 숨김없이 강사들에게 전달해야 하며, 한국과는 전혀 다른 문화와 생활 방식을 가진 외국인을 채용한다는 점을 잊지 말아야 합니다. 강사 역시 한국행 비행기를 타기 전 어떤 것을 기대하고 가야하는지 계약 전에 충분히 인지해야 합니다.

학원과 강사간의 원활한 의사소통이 이루어질수 있게 하는 것이 Travel and Teach Recruiting Inc.의 존재 이유입니다. 행복한 강사가 즐거운 학원을 만들고, 일하기 좋고 정직한 학원이 행복한 강사를 만든다고 저는 믿습니다.

During my five years teaching in Korea and my eight years recruiting, I have learned much about how hogwans are run, as well as the problems that exist between the school and the foreign teacher.  The main issue that seemed to always arise was that neither the teacher nor the school fully understood what was expected from each other, which was often due to a lack of communication.  Cultural differences as well as different expectations from employer and employee also factor into this problem. 

What we constantly try to achieve at Travel and Teach Recruiting Inc. is a continued working relationship with our schools and our teachers.

Schools  should do their very best to be clear with all of the job details and requirements that they set out for the teacher; and the teacher needs to be fully aware and prepared for a different working environment from what they are used to in their home country.  We are not only interested in placing teachers in schools; we provide guidance and do our best to ease the transition culturally and professionally to better prepare our teachers for their new life in Korea. 

I truly believe that a good school makes a happy teacher and that a happy teacher makes a good school.
