Teaching ESL has been very rewarding. It’s truly incredible to explain a concept to someone who does not understand it, and then see the look on their face when they now understand it because of you. It has given me a new perspective on just how difficult the English language is, and witnessing the frustration among students that they’re never going to really learn English. It makes the experience that much better when you are able to teach them things they never thought they’d be able to learn, and then to remind them what a good job they did in learning a difficult aspect of the English language. -November 2008
